Foraging with Spirit of the Hedgerider

The activity of finding, gathering and harvesting wild resources – for free! Discover and learn about the amazing abundance of natural riches that thrive in our native Welsh hedgerows. Foraging is a great way to stay active, spending time outdoors connecting with nature and learning all about where our natural foods and medicines come from.

Charcoal Drawing

Join artist Kallum Hopkins for a 2-hour charcoal drawing session in the forest. Learn expressive techniques, get your hands dirty (in a good way), explore mark-making, texture and tone using natural surroundings as inspiration. All materials provided.

Wooden Sword Making

Make your own wooden sword, from natural materials we forage from the woodland, use handtools and practice knots, take your very own wooden sword home.

Forest Soap Spray Painting

Ever tried spray painting in a forest? Join street artist Darrel Soap Spray for a 2-hour graffiti workshop where nature meets street style — come and get creative with spray paint under the trees. Learn the basics, make your mark, in this hands-on workshop.

Welcome to the jungle dance… We’ll tango with lions, cha cha like chimps and freestyle with giraffes - summon your animal spirit! Join drama & dance sessions throughout the day which will culminate in a (no-pressure!) performance from 5- 5.30pm.

Workshop sessions will run from 12 - 1pm, 2 - 3pm and 4 - 5pm (adults need to join in or supervise at a close distance - each session will be different and you can come to one, two or all three!). Drop in to sign up on the day at the kids marquee.

Make animal masks and tropical props ready for the Jungle Dance! Prepare patches, pirate flags and shakers and set sail on a totally tropical tide with Sheffield Samba Band.

Tropical pirates ahoy! Join in the big fun samba procession with Sheffield Samba Band, starting from the kids area at 5.30pm. (NOT just for kids!)

Want to dress for the party!? Anything goes… Think tropical. Think pink. Think pirates & parrots!

Twirly hoops is back! Pop down to the lawn by the lake on Saturday  to learn some hoop tricks and play around with a giant slinky. Free for all, any age can join in (no one’s too old to hula hoop!) 

Joining Tonnau for the first time this year are the fabulous Pixel Free Play crew from South Wales. They bring an array of fascinating wooden balance games and toys that will keep kids entertained for hours and hours.. without a screen in sight! No need to book, just come and get stuck in.

Bubbles will be back again in the afternoon, free for all to join in the fun! Giant bubble entertainment and interactive fun with 'get inside a bubble'. Join us and have a go with our enormous bubbles! And when you've had enough of being on the outside... climb inside one!

Drop in and join us for daft games, curious crafts, silly sports and random dancing from 12 - 2. 

Join Emily and become a puppeteer! Learn how to make giant paper puppets and take them to a puppet disco. All materials provided - each puppet needs three puppet-masters so grab your team and go! Adults need to support this activity. 2-4pm in the Kids Area.

Suitable for older children, professional  instructor Frankie will be holding Arial Workshops throughout the weekend. They're free for all but there may be age and ability restrictions. Frankie will holding free drop in classes in the woods, shall come and say hello!

Drop into the Circus Workshop and learn some new circus skills! Fun for all ages and abilities, free for all and no need to book.

Catch the stilt walking displays at points over the weekend.

Our Quiet Tent is open for anyone with little people who'd like a little bit of peace and quiet or some privacy away from the bustle of the festival.
